Resplendent Ceylon recently concluded a series of impactful Professional Development Workshops across the southern coast of Sri Lanka, reaching over 1000 participants. Our mission was direct: equip young individuals with crucial career skills often overlooked by traditional education.

Resplendent Ceylon, Sri Lanka’s leading luxury hospitality brand and the leisure arm of Dilmah, is pleased to announce the promotion of Dilshan Gnanapragasam to the position of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). This well-earned advancement follows over nine years of dedicated service to the company, during which Dilshan most recently held the role of Senior Vice President – Commercial.

Resplendent Ceylon recently collaborated with the Empower Culinary & Hospitality School (ECHS), an initiative of the Merrill J. Fernando Charitable Foundation, to host “Elevate the Plate.” This specialized culinary skills workshop aimed to enhance the abilities of aspiring young chefs.

In 2025, we have continued to equip our team and expand our operational capacity. We have purchased a total of 35 remote cameras, including 20 solar-powered and 15 regular lithium battery models.

May 6th marks the birthday of the founder of the MJF Group,the late Mr. Merrill J. Fernando. He is remembered not only as an incredibly experienced teamaker, but also as someone who dedicated his life advocating for compassion towards both people and the environment.
