Frequently Asked Questions

Kayaam Wellness occupies a rare position — a purpose-built wellness resort in Sri Lanka where Ayurveda permeates every aspect of the experience, from the treatment rooms to the dining table. Positioned in Tangalle on Sri Lanka’s south coast, the property blends contemporary tropical design with open, nature-inspired spaces, creating a setting that soothes before the first treatment begins. Recognition from ELLE, Tatler and Condé Nast Traveller reflects a consistent standard that distinguishes Kayaam from more generalist wellness resorts in Sri Lanka. It is a place built around genuine restoration, not simply relaxation.

Kayaam Wellness offers a curated range of Ayurvedic therapies and wellness programmes designed in collaboration with resident Ayurvedic doctors. Treatments are tailored to each guest's constitution and goals — from detox and rejuvenation to Ayurvedic skincare, digestive health recovery and weight management. Each Ayurveda wellness retreat is built around a bespoke consultation process, ensuring treatments, diet and daily rhythm are aligned for meaningful, lasting outcomes. Whether you visit for a few days or an extended stay, the approach is always personalised.

Kayaam Wellness is located in Tangalle on Sri Lanka's south coast, approximately three to four hours by road from Bandaranaike International Airport. The surrounding region is one of the island's most quietly compelling — home to pristine beaches, lagoons, national parks and ancient temples. Tangalle is largely undiscovered by mass tourism, making it an ideal setting for a wellness retreat in Sri Lanka that prioritises genuine peace. Private transfers can be arranged directly through the property.

Dining at Kayaam is an integral part of the holistic healing experience rather than a standalone offering. The menu draws on the freshest seasonal produce, with guests able to choose from the à la carte offering or work with the resident Ayurvedic doctor to create a personalised meal plan aligned with their programme. This integration of therapeutic nutrition and culinary craft is central to the philosophy of wellness in Sri Lanka at Kayaam — the kitchen is as much a part of recovery as the treatment rooms. Vegetarian, specific dietary and Ayurvedic cleansing plans are all accommodated with care.

Kayaam Wellness sits within easy reach of some of Tangalle's most rewarding experiences. Guests can explore the ancient rock monastery of Mulkirigala, visit Rekawa Beach to witness sea turtle nesting, kayak through the tranquil waters of Rekawa Lagoon, take excursions to Bundala National Park, or walk Tangalle's golden sands at dawn. On property, yoga sessions, meditation and beach activities complement the Ayurvedic programme. The wellness in Sri Lanka offering at Kayaam is deliberately broad — healing the mind and body through stillness, nature and cultural connection in equal measure. Curated adventures are arranged through the resort's experiences team.

Guests at Kayaam Wellness

We had a fantastic stay at Kayaam Wellness. The hotel is beautifully designed, the decor is sophisticated and calming and the hotel has a wonderful setting right on the beach, away from the crowds. We walked along the beach at sunset in the evenings - a perfect way to end the day.
