Visit Galle

Galle, Sri Lanka's southern seaside metropolis, is an attractive and increasingly cosmopolitan town, dotted with sights, shops and eateries. Its main landmark and the hub of most tourist action is its mighty fort, a perfectly preserved UNESCO World Heritage Site with a history that dates back over 400 years. Conceived by the Portuguese, built by the Dutch and modified by the British, Galle's Fort is an eye-catching, photo-worthy hybrid of architectural styles.
