Explore Sri Lanka’s wilderness on a traditional paalam paaruwara raft to see over 150 species of water and land birds in their natural habitat. The surrounding area consists of lagoons, shrub jungles, mangroves and grassy land which provide an ideal haven for bird life. The raft can also be docked on a part of the reserve, where other animal species including mammals, fish and reptiles can be seen.
Climb 500 steps to the Rock Temples of Mulkirigala dating back to the 3rd-century BC, now shrouded within a tranquil forest. The temple stands at the tip of the rock of Mulkirigala that rises approximately 676 feet from the surrounding land mass. The complex is home to seven cave temples situated in five terraced areas of different altitudes.
