Bohemian Style Wedding at Wild Coast Lodge
Wild Coast Lodge hosted their first wedding at the property recently. Congratulations to Lori and Ranil. Thank you for sharing your special day with us!
Different ‘Bohemian’ elements came together for a memorable wedding. From the beautiful flower arrangements adorning the dinner table and the “poruwa” (traditional wedding arbor), a separate area arranged with cushions for guests to lounge around during the cocktail hour post wedding formalities, to Wild Coasts’ unique architectural structures and elements. Guests got to experience elements of a Sri Lankan traditional wedding, too, with the celebrant conducting the wedding with Sri Lankan rituals, traditional dancers welcoming the couple and wedding retinue, and peacock feathers added to the bridal bouquets.
On the whole, it was a unique experience and the ultimate getaway wedding for the couple.
Here’s what Ranil, the groom, had to say about his experience:
“I write to thank Thilini and all her team at WCTL, whom I have been liaising with for months. She and the team were extremely professional and efficient but also warm and hospitable in a way that is so beautifully Sri Lankan. She has a great eye for style and event management. It poured with rain for a while and the seamless way in which they switched locations etc. was so impressive. Thilini presents a lovely yet professional face for the company for westerners and locals, I can assure you without reservation. The food and venue were nothing short of stunning. The flowers and wedding set up were gorgeous, the service was 5 star. We love the truly unique cocoon accommodation styling. It was everything we had hoped. You and the team really have excellent taste.”
