Its distinctive character comes from the connection between heritage residences, personalised butler service, cuisine shaped around individual preferences, and experiences that reveal the landscape and traditions of Ceylon tea.

The bungalows are spread across the tea country surrounding Hatton, with road transfers from the town generally taking around 20–45 minutes, depending on the bungalow. From the Airport, the journey takes approximately 4½ hours, depending on your destination bungalow, traffic and road conditions. Our reservations team can assist with planning your transfer.

Guests can discover life on a working tea plantation in Sri Lanka through guided tea experiences, nature walks and cycling excursions. Castlereagh Lake offers opportunities for kayaking and scenic cruises, while outdoor dining and the Tea Planter’s Tiffin Lunch provide another way to enjoy the landscape. Experiences are subject to availability and, where relevant, weather conditions.

Ceylon Tea Trails is a year-round destination, with each season offering a different experience of the hill country. December to May is generally the driest period, making it well suited to outdoor exploration. Wetter months bring lush landscapes and quieter moments within the bungalows. Comfortable walking shoes, light layers and a waterproof jacket are recommended throughout the year.
